Job Description
Overview
The Property Renovator plays an important role in delivering world-class service within our residential buildings. This position helps ensure our properties reflect pride of ownership while maintaining safe, well-maintained living environments for our residents. The successful candidate will perform general repairs, renovations, and maintenance while supporting positive resident relations.
Duties
Ensure safety and compliance with Health and Safety requirements of EMF Maritimes Pool II LP.
Perform drywall repairs, painting preparation, and painting.
Conduct minor electrical and plumbing repairs.
Carry out minor plumbing tasks such as plunging toilets, bathtubs, and sinks; replacing faucet cartridges; bleeding air from radiators; restarting boilers; and replacing tank levers.
Renovate kitchen cabinets, doors, cupboards, windows, and other building structures.
Repair and maintain appliances such as stoves and refrigerators.
Complete suite renovations, refurbishments, and general upgrades.
Move equipment, materials, and supplies as required.
Respond to, troubleshoot, and prioritize work orders and emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner.
Perform snow removal and ice control from entrances, exits, and walkways as required.
Deliver and post notices for residents in units and common areas when required.
Conduct routine building inspections.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
Participate in an on-call rotation responding to work orders and emergencies according to the after-hours emergency protocol.
Assist with preventative maintenance programs.
Provide resident services and maintain positive resident relations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills
Minimum three (3) years’ experience in building maintenance or property renovations.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on stairways while carrying equipment and supplies.
Valid driver’s license and ability to provide an annual clean driver’s abstract if operating a company vehicle.
Ability to provide a clean vulnerable sector record check.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and customer service.
Must have own vehicle to travel between job locations within the Gander area.
