Carpenter – Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in residential construction, including framing, restoration, installation, and custom fabrication. This role requires a high standard of workmanship, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

The Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and finishes using wood and other building materials.

Duties & Responsibilities

Perform framing of walls, floors, roofs, and structural components
Restore and repair existing structures to meet safety standards and project specifications
Install siding, drywall, flooring, and other finish materials
Fabricate and install custom woodwork and fixtures
Assist with basic electrical and plumbing tasks as required during renovations
Apply caulking and sealants to ensure proper air/vapour sealing and durability
Perform material handling and heavy lifting as required on job sites
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project plans accurately
Work closely with other trades to ensure projects are completed on time and to spec
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
Qualifications

Proven experience as a Carpenter in residential construction or renovations
Strong knowledge of framing, carpentry methods, tools, and materials
Ability to read and execute from blueprints and technical drawings
Experience with siding, drywall, and finishing work
Basic understanding of electrical and plumbing systems (asset, not required)
Physically capable of lifting materials and working on your feet for extended periods
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Reliable, with good communication and teamwork skills
Valid driver’s license and transportation to job sites preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$32.00 per hour
