Job Description

Journeyperson Carpenter

Location: Tłı̨chǫ Region – Remote Project Sites
Schedule: Flexible rotational arrangements available

With a proud history of craftsmanship and cultural respect, we specialize in building meaningful infrastructure in remote locations throughout the Tłı̨chǫ region.

We are currently seeking a Journeyperson Carpenter to join our team — someone who brings strong technical skill, leadership, and a commitment to supporting Northern and Indigenous communities.

Key Responsibilities

Perform a full range of carpentry duties including framing, roofing, siding, finishing, and general construction work
Interpret and build from blueprints, specifications, and construction drawings
Work collaboratively with supervisors, tradespeople, and community members to ensure smooth daily operations
Mentor and support apprentices and labourers, helping build local talent and capacity
Promote and uphold safety standards, cleanliness, and cultural awareness on all job sites
Contribute to building homes, infrastructure, and lasting connections in Northern communities


Qualifications

Red Seal Journeyperson Carpenter certification required
Minimum 3 years of experience in residential or commercial construction
Comfortable working in remote environments and Indigenous communities
Experience leading apprentices or junior crew members is a strong asset
Valid First Aid, WHMIS, and NWT Supervisor Level 2 (or willingness to obtain)
