Job Overview
We are seeking a certified, skilled, and experienced Journeyperson Plumber to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems across various commercial and residential projects. This role requires a strong understanding of plumbing codes, safety standards, and technical skills to ensure efficient and reliable plumbing solutions. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing advanced tools and techniques to deliver high-quality craftsmanship.
Responsibilities
Install, repair, and maintain water supply lines, drainage systems, and venting systems
Install plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, showers, bathtubs, and water heaters.
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of plumbing systems
Cut, bend, and assemble pipes using hand and power tools
Test plumbing systems for leaks and proper functionality
Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues
Ensure all work complies with provincial plumbing codes and safety standards
Provide cost estimates and communicate clearly with clients
Supervise and mentor apprentices when required
Maintain a clean work environment and document work performed accurately
Employment Requirements
Journeyman Plumber Certification (Red Seal preferred)
Valid plumbing license (as required by province/territory)
Minimum 3–5 years of plumbing experience
Valid driver’s license
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
Strong knowledge of plumbing systems and safety procedures
Physically capable of lifting heavy materials and working in confined spaces
Work Conditions
Residential and commercial job sites
Indoor and outdoor work
May require overtime
Physically demanding (lifting, bending, kneeling)
Overtime may be required
Employer-paid travel (flights) to and from job locations within NWT
Employer-provided accommodations
