Engineering Assistant – Building Services

EPES is a building services engineering consultancy specialising in HVAC and building services across healthcare and hospital projects. We assess, document, and deliver mechanical systems in some of NSW’s most complex and critical built environments.

For the right person this is a genuine career starter. You’ll work directly alongside an experienced engineer, get hands-on exposure to real projects, and build skills that open doors across the engineering and construction industry.

What the role looks like day-to-day

Most of your time will be working from home supporting project delivery. When site work is on, you’ll be out on hospital and healthcare sites with me doing inspections, testing, and hands-on tasks.

Prepare reports, drawings, and project documents including basic CAD (I can teach the right person)
Attend site inspections and commissioning activities — carrying equipment, accessing plant areas, opening hatches
Coordinate subcontractors and help keep project timelines on track
What I’m looking for

Proactive and self-motivated — working from home suits people who back themselves
Organised with good attention to detail and comfortable communicating with contractors and clients
Physically capable and at ease in hospital and healthcare environments
Comfortable with computers and genuinely interested in how technology and AI tools are changing the way engineering work gets done
Current Australian driver’s licence and own vehicle (travel costs covered)
A genuine interest in how buildings and engineering systems work
No degree required. No prior experience required. Just drive and reliability.
