THE ROLE
We currently have a secondment opportunity within a Commonwealth Agency that is seeking a lawyer with administrative and statutory interpretation experience to work on a variety of legal projects.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be required to work as a secondee within the Commonwealth clients’ in-house legal team. High level stakeholder engagement skills are required as the successful candidate will be required to provide advice and assistance to a wide range of client areas.
The successful candidate will provide a variety of legal advice on subjects including:
statutory interpretation of legislation;
applying administrative law principles to business decisions and advising on process issues;
advising on legislative compliance and remediation; and
providing advice related to leadership in managing complex legal issues and influencing decision making processes.
THE REQUIREMENTS
A current practising certificate (or ability to obtain one) and a current Baseline security clearance experience is essential.
The successful candidate will also have extensive experience advising on Commonwealth administrative law and statutory interpretation matters.
