Job Description

NTT Data are seeking a highly experienced System Integration Architect to lead the design, integration and delivery of complex, large-scale networked system within a secure government environment.

2 year contract
Canberra location – must be able to work onsite
Due to the secure nature of the work, only candidates holding a current, active NV1 security clearance will be considered
This role focuses on systems-of-systems integration, network architecture, and platform interoperability, supporting advanced development, testing and innovation initiatives. You will work across distributed environments, ensuring systems operate seamlessly and securely while enabling continuous improvement and capability uplift.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, implement and manage enterprise and distributed WAN/LAN environments (TCP/IP, IEEE 802.3 / 802.11)
Architect and support virtualised server environments (VMware, Hyper‑V, KVM)
Design and manage secure network architectures, leveraging tools such as ForeScout, Splunk and McAfee
Lead the design and integration of cross-domain and multi-environment solutions
Develop and maintain automation, scripting and CI/CD pipelines to support system innovation
Perform system integration design, analysis and architecture alignment across complex environments
Manage configuration, change and release management across development, test and production environments
Integrate new releases and third-party systems into existing platforms
Evaluate and integrate MOTS, COTS and emerging technologies into enterprise systems
Produce high-quality technical documentation, architectures and engineering artefacts (including BOMs)
Conduct network planning, modelling and performance analysis
Troubleshoot and resolve network, system and infrastructure issues, including security vulnerabilities
Design and implement security controls and countermeasures
Research and develop new tools, systems and technical solutions
Develop and deliver training materials and technical enablement sessions
Provide Level 3 support for complex systems and critical operational activities
Support innovation initiatives, including emerging technologies such as secure wireless and immersive platforms
Undertake additional tasks as required to support project delivery
Key Requirements

Tertiary qualifications in Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline
10+ years’ experience in network engineering, systems integration or architecture roles
Strong experience across WAN/LAN technologies and enterprise networks
Proven expertise with Cisco networking technologies
Hands-on experience with virtualisation platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V, KVM)
Experience designing and implementing secure, multi-environment architectures
Strong understanding of systems integration within complex, distributed environments
Experience working in highly secure, regulated or mission-critical environments (e.g. Defence, government, or critical infrastructure)
Exposure to deployable, tactical or operational network environments highly regarded
Experience integrating systems across multi-domain or federated network environments
Familiarity with cross-domain solutions and secure information exchange patterns is desirable
Experience with automation, scripting and CI/CD pipelines
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation and training delivery
Ability to work independently and within complex stakeholder environments
