About the Role:
The Department of Neonatology is the only tertiary Level 6 neonatal unit in the ACT and surrounding NSW, caring for the region’s most vulnerable babies. Our service includes the NICU, Special Care Nursery, NETS ACT retrieval service, Newborn and Parent Support Service, and NICU Growth and Development Clinic. With 36 funded beds and capacity to grow, the unit supports around 3,500 births each year and approximately 700 neonatal admissions, delivering family‑centred care in a technologically advanced, developmentally supportive environment.
As a Registered Nurse Level 2, you will provide high‑level nursing care to critically ill neonates, utilising advanced therapies and multiple modalities of care. You will take on a leadership role within the team, supporting and mentoring junior staff, coordinating care in high‑acuity situations, and working closely within a multidisciplinary team to ensure exceptional outcomes for babies and their families.
