We specialise in a wide range of projects, from home remodels and renovations to retail and office interior fit-outs. Our services cover painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and other essential trades.

As part of our daily operations and ongoing business growth, we are seeking to employ a qualified Tiler to support the continued delivery of our core services. The Tiler role is essential to maintaining the high standard of workmanship our clients expect.

The Duties and Responsibilities

n Interpret job specifications and project instructions to determine tiling requirements.

n Assess and prepare wall and floor surfaces by cleaning, smoothing, and removing any contaminants such as grease, wax, soap scum, old adhesives or sealants.

n Take precise measurements and markings using tools such as laser levels, chalk lines, carpenter squares, and measuring tapes to ensure accurate layout planning.

n Remove existing fittings, trims, and outdated surfaces as part of surface preparation.

n Mix and apply adhesives, mortar, or cement compounds suited to different surfaces and tile types.

n Lay tiles in designated patterns and locations, ensuring correct alignment, spacing, and level using tile spacers, spirit levels, and straightedges.

n Use tile-cutting equipment such as wet saws, tile scribes, and nippers to cut tiles to fit around edges, fixtures, and irregular shapes including pipes and corners.

n Apply waterproofing systems in areas requiring moisture protection in compliance with relevant standards.

n Perform grouting tasks and remove excess grout, ensuring clean and professional finishes.

n Replace damaged or broken tiles and re-grout as necessary.

n Align tiles with precision to match plans and ensure symmetry, especially in decorative or patterned layouts.

n Screed sand and cement mixtures to establish even surfaces or create falls where drainage is required.

n Read and interpret architectural drawings and construction plans to carry out tasks according to client and project requirements.

n Organise tools, materials, and time efficiently to meet project deadlines.

n Apply workplace health and safety practices at all times, including the safe operation of cutting tools and handling of chemicals.

n Maintain a high standard of workmanship, ensuring durability and client satisfaction.

Salary: $75,000 to $85,000
