Dispatch Assistant

Pick, pack, and local courier dispatch

About the Role

This is a hands-on role involving picking products, packing customer orders, preparing local courier parcels, and supporting the dispatch process.

The role includes online orders and in-store customer orders that need to be packed and shipped. Orders may be local New Zealand orders or international orders.

For international orders, this role includes picking, checking, packing, weighing, and measuring parcels. However, international shipping labels and courier documentation will be handled by the dispatch/admin team.

This role suits someone who is organised, careful with details, and comfortable following clear step-by-step procedures.

Main Duties

Pick products for customer orders
Pack online orders and in-store orders that need to be shipped
Check product, size, colour, quantity, and order details before packing
Pack orders neatly, securely, and with care
Print and apply local courier labels
Prepare local parcels for courier pickup
Pack international orders securely according to instructions
Weigh and measure parcels when required
Place packed international parcels in the correct bin for admin/shipping processing
Refill boxes, satchels, tape, sleeves, labels, and packing materials
Keep the packing and dispatch area clean, tidy, and organised
Report any order, stock, product, or address issues to the dispatch/admin person
The Right Person Will Be

Reliable and punctual
Accurate and careful with details
Tidy and organised
Comfortable using a computer, printer, and basic order system
Able to follow checklists and procedures
Calm and focused during busy periods
Physically able to stand, pack, lift, and move parcels during the shift
Good at asking questions when something does not look right
Respectful of customer orders and product presentation
Experience in any of the following would be helpful:

Pick packing
Retail stockroom work
Ecommerce order packing
Local courier label printing
Warehouse or dispatch work
Packing soft goods, bulky items, footwear, rugs, clothing, or homeware
Training will be provided for our systems and packing procedures.

Hours

Part-time/casual hours to start, with more hours available during busy trading periods.

Ideal availability would be during weekdays and weekends, especially late morning to afternoon.
