Job Description

Based at our Wellington workshop we require someone with an interest in machinery to drive our service truck around Centreport providing fuel and oil servicing for a variety of heavy machinery used by C3 in our log marshalling and stevedoring operations.

Key responsibilities for this role include minor servicing and maintenance, involving refueling and topping up oil and water as required as well as greasing equipment, maintenance of tyres, lights and brakes. This role will also have responsibility for the maintenance and servicing of the Service Truck, ensuring the truck is correctly loaded with fuel and that daily pre and post inspections are carried out along with ensuring all relevant compliance documentation pertaining to the Service Truck is in order.

When not operating the Service Truck you must be prepared to help in the workshop by assisting the mechanics with manual tasks and cleaning duties.

Essential requirements for the position are:

Full Class 2 licence and Dangerous (DG) endorsement
Safe driving record
Mechanical aptitude with interest in heavy machinery
Able to follow instructions and take direction
Ability to write routine reports & correspondence
Can interpret documentation such as maintenance manuals and SOPs
Can adhere to all health & safety requirements of C3 and the Port of Tauranga
Able to safely handle chemicals and fuel as required
Act in an environmentally responsible manner with the transport & disposal of fuels and chemicals
Reliability and trustworthiness
Good communicator and team player
If you are keen to get a foot in the door and gain exposure to a workshop environment or looking for a role where you like the workshop environment but no longer want to work on the tools, then we would like to hear from you.

As part of C3’s commitment to health and safety, the successful candidate will need to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen.

Employing over 1200 staff in 11 locations across New Zealand, C3 Limited is a market leader in New Zealand’s port related product and cargo handling, adding value to our client’s businesses by providing solutions to their transport and logistics needs.
