On a typical day as our Architectural Technologist, you will:
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of architectural and structural drawings.
- Complete order assessments to determine the scope of the project, outline the structural specifications, and materials required
- Prepare full sets of construction drawings that are clear, accurate, comprehensive, and consistent.
- Revise drawings based on changes requested by the client and feedback from engineers, plan examiners, contractors, and the production manager.
- Provide shop drawings for production.
- Engage in ongoing continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.
- Attend to other related new projects as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or a degree from an architectural technology program.
- 2+ years of professional experience in design and wood frame construction.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with clients, contractors, engineers, and colleagues.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- BCIN certification is an asset.
- Knowledge of Canadian building codes, zoning regulations, and planning processes is an asset.
