About the Role

This permanent opportunity is ideal for HCAs who thrive in dynamic environments, adapt quickly, and enjoy working alongside diverse clinical teams.

As a member of the Nursing Resource Team (NRT), youll provide essential cover across multiple specialties and inpatient wards, supporting service delivery where the need is greatest. Working under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and contribute to safe, respectful, and person-centred care.

Youll work closely with Charge Nurse Managers, shift coordinators, and multidisciplinary teams, integrating into a variety of clinical areas across the hospital.

About the Team/Service

The Nursing Resource Team is Waikato Hospitals internal bureau, providing flexible workforce support across the hospital. We foster a supportive, team-focused, friendly culture, where learning and development are encouraged and valued.

Support to progress through HCA Merit Steps and NZQA qualifications
Access to experienced leadership, including a Charge Nurse Manager, Nurse Educator, Clinical Coaches, and Clinical Nurse Coordinators

About you

Youll bring:

Previous experience working in a healthcare setting in New Zealand
NZQA Health and Wellbeing Level 3 or 4 (preferred, or willingness to work towards)
Flexibility to work rostered shifts, 24/7
A patient-centred approach and strong communication skills
The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
