- Develop and present innovative design concepts for building interiors, with a strong emphasis on space creation, space planning, and enhancing the overall user experience
- Prepare detailed sketches, diagrams, mood boards, illustrations, and plans to communicate design intent clearly to clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Produce comprehensive documentation and technical drawings to support the construction and delivery phase, ensuring design intent is accurately captured and communicated
- Select, specify, and recommend materials, furniture, fixtures, finishes, and products that align with the design vision, client requirements, and project budget
- Negotiate and refine design solutions with clients, project managers, suppliers, and construction teams, balancing creative outcomes with practical and budgetary considerations
- Supervise and review the construction and fit-out of interiors to ensure works are executed in accordance with the approved design, specifications, and quality standards
- Manage relationships with suppliers, trades, and contractors, coordinating procurement, lead times, and delivery schedules to keep projects on track
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other design professionals to integrate interior design outcomes within the broader project framework
- Maintain accurate project records, design registers, and correspondence throughout the project lifecycle to support transparency and accountability
- Contribute to business development activities, including the preparation of proposals, presentations, and concept briefs to support new project pursuits
## Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related design discipline from a recognised institution
- Demonstrated professional experience in interior design across commercial, retail, residential, or mixed-use project types

- Strong ability to produce high-quality technical documentation, including construction drawings, schedules, and specifications
- Sound knowledge of Australian building codes, accessibility standards, and relevant compliance requirements
- Excellent spatial awareness and a refined aesthetic sensibility, with a proven ability to develop creative yet functional design solutions
- Strong client-facing and communication skills, with the ability to present design concepts confidently and manage stakeholder expectations
- Well-developed project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines
- High attention to detail in both design development and documentation, with a commitment to delivering quality outcomes
- Collaborative and team-oriented approach, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary project teams
