Immigration Assistant

VisaSector is a New Zealand–based immigration consultancy assisting visitors, students, workers, families, and employers with New Zealand visa services. We are seeking a passionate and motivated Immigration Assistant to support our growing immigration practice.
This role is ideal for someone who is either a Provisional Licence Holder (PLIA), currently studying towards a provisional licence, or someone with strong practical experience in the immigration industry who wishes to grow professionally under supervision.
The role offers excellent practical exposure to the day-to-day responsibilities of a Licensed Immigration Adviser and is suitable for a person seeking long-term career growth in the New Zealand immigration industry.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist with preparation and organisation of immigration files including visitor visas, partnership visas, student visas, AEWV applications, job checks, employer accreditation, residence applications, and complex immigration matters
· Issue service agreements, invoices, and client document checklists and follow up with clients as required
· Manage daily client communication via email, phone, WhatsApp, and social media platforms
· Collect, review, organise, and maintain client documents and records accurately
· Draft administrative correspondence, cover letters, and supporting documentation under supervision
· Upload, scan, print, format, and securely file documents in digital and physical systems
· Maintain accurate CRM records, call logs, and enquiry tracking systems
· Monitor and respond to enquiries and leads received through online platforms and social media
· Make outbound and follow-up calls to clients and prospective clients and assist with appointment scheduling
· Coordinate meetings and support administrative operations under the direction of a Licensed Immigration Adviser
· Work independently while also following instructions and supervision effectively
All work is carried out under supervision. Immigration advice and final visa decisions remain under the Licensed Immigration Adviser’s responsibility.
Skills & Requirements
· Strong IT skills, including proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel)
· Excellent spoken and written English
· Strong organisational and administrative skills
· Confident and professional phone communication skills
· High attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to work confidently with email, PDF documents, CRM systems, and cloud-based systems (e.g. OneDrive)
· Ability to work independently and manage competing tasks effectively
· Strong passion for immigration and willingness to learn
Preferred:
· Previous experience in the immigration industry
· Provisional Licence Holder (PLIA) or currently studying towards provisional licence
· Multilingual skills such as Hindi and/or Punjabi
· Familiarity with international student or migration-related backgrounds
· Interest in office administration, immigration support, recruitment, or sales
