About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Clerical Reliever to join our Cancer Services, here at Waikato Hospital, Hamilton.
As a successful Clerical Reliever, you will play a key role in providing cover for planned and unplanned absences and peaks in service workload to the administration teams in the Oncology, Haematology, Palliative Care and MDM services.
Day to day you will be involved in supporting the processing of patients referrals, booking patient appointments, managing administrative tasks and liaising with clinical staff to support patient care. You will also ensure that patients are supported as they arrive for their appointments.
Key responsibilities of the role:
The Clerical Reliever role is essential in assisting with the smooth running of the Cancer Services.
The role includes:
Carrying out administrative activities accurately and promptly
Maintaining accurate records and waitlists of patients awaiting care.
Booking patient appointments in the patient management system
Processing referrals
Responding to patient enquiries relating to appointments and liaising with clinical teams
Covering reception duties when and as required

Proven competence with Microsoft Office Suite / data entry / typing/email
Previous administration experience
Organised, efficient and able to prioritise their workload effectively
Exceptional at customer service
Detail oriented
Experience in a health environment or knowledge of clinical terminology would be an advantage, but not essential.
