Nurse Educator – Childrens Ward
Southland Hospital, Permanent Part time 0.4 FTE
Salary between $114,025 and $121,444 per annum pro rata

About the Role

We are looking for a Nurse Educator to step into this part time role to continue to support new and existing staff within our Childrens Ward with the provision of education, training and resources that ensure practice is current, evidence based and fit for purpose.

A born communicator and collaborator, with the inherent ability to build successful working relationships, this role will see you working alongside nurses, medical colleagues as well as other educators within the wider PDU team to provide practice and professional development opportunities that enhance service delivery, quality and safety alongside improved patient outcomes.

Participating in the development of new nurses, developing and implementing their orientation programme is all part of the job. If you are a networker, a leader and a role model with recognised teaching, mentoring and coaching skills, have a real passion for patient and staff safety, and you align with Health New Zealand Southern values and objectives then we welcome your interest in joining our team.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

Current and considerable post registration experience in paediatric nursing
Professional credibility in the clinical setting
Confidence and passion for supporting and developing our nurses
First-rate knowledge of the professional standards and regulations for nurses
Superior written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
It is essential that you are a Registered Nurse with a current practising certificate, either hold or be working towards an appropriate postgraduate qualification, and hold or be working towards PDRP.
