About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Caregiver to join our dedicated support team in Southland. This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, person-centered care to clients within their homes or residential facilities across the Canterbury suburbs. You will be a vital link in the healthcare chain, providing essential daily support that allows our clients to maintain independence and a high quality of life.

What You’ll Be Doing

Accompanying aged and disabled persons during daily activities
Assisting clients with their mobility
Preparing food for clients
Arranging social activities
Performing housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming and cleaning
Assisting in personal hygiene and dressing
Providing companionship, friendship and emotional support
May do shopping and run errands
May live in with the person
What We’re Looking For

Experience: 3+ years of proven experience in caregiving, nursing support, or a community health role; OR Qualifications: A New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 4) or a New Zealand Diploma in Health and Wellbeing (Level 5).
Empathy & Patience: A genuine desire to help others and the emotional intelligence to handle sensitive situations with calm and kindness.
Reliability: Total dependability is a must—our clients throughout Canterbury rely on your presence for their daily well-being.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate effectively with clients, families, and medical professionals.
Logistics: A valid driver’s license and reliable transport to travel to various client locations across Christchurch.
Benefits

Weekly pay.
Competitive hourly rate ($25–$30 per hour depending on qualifications and experience).
Minimum of 30 hours guaranteed per week (permanent full-time)
