Job Description

Relativity Group Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled, motivated and experienced Technical Sales Representative for an immediate start. The Technical Sales Representative plays a key role in driving commercial growth, managing client relationships and supporting the delivery of Relativity Group’s services across its portfolio of businesses.

Headquartered in Perth, Western Australia, Relativity Group is a small, dynamic firm that includes the affiliated businesses: WA DEFENCE REVIEW (WADR), Australian Defence & Industry Analyst (ADIA), Intelligent Communications (IC) and Risk Intelligence Solutions (RIS). We deliver specialised media, digital communication and industry engagement solutions, including print and online publications, video content platforms, data-driven advertising services and strategic communication support tailored to defence, government and industry stakeholders.

DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development & Technical Sales:

Develop, manage and grow strategic relationships across government, industry and the defence sector to support commercial objectives.
Promote the organisation’s specialised advertising, media and communication solutions, articulating value propositions to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Prepare and present tailored proposals and technical solutions, aligning communication products and services with specific client requirements and operational objectives.
Negotiate commercial agreements and contribute directly to revenue generation, pipeline development and market expansion.
Conduct market and competitor research to identify new business opportunities and emerging international markets relevant to clients from various industries, including the defence sector.
Maintain detailed knowledge of the organisation’s media platforms, digital products, analytics capabilities and communication systems to effectively position solutions in the market.
Client Engagement & Project Coordination:

Serve as primary liaison for clients and key stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, managing client expectations and developing long‑term business relationships.
Coordinate with internal teams to deliver tailored technical media products, publications and campaigns.
Oversee project schedules, deliverables and quality standards.
Provide ongoing client support throughout the sales and delivery lifecycle, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
Operational, Commercial & Executive Support:

Support senior leadership to coordinate business priorities, commercial activities and strategic initiatives.
Maintain CRM systems, sales pipelines, contact databases and reporting dashboards to ensure accurate tracking of commercial performance.
Assist in planning and delivering events, publications, marketing initiatives and industry engagement activities.
Contribute to internal planning, reporting, compliance and continuous improvement processes to enhance operational efficiency and commercial outcomes.
Other:

This is a full-time role (38 hours of work per week). It includes superannuation.
Salary from $76,515 + 12% superannuation
Must have a valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone with:

Relevant qualifications in business, marketing, communications or a related field (Diploma or higher preferred)
Proven work history (3–5 years) in related business development roles
strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
a high level of autonomy, accountability and business awareness
exceptional standards of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality
experience in a role requiring trusted access to senior stakeholders, confidential information and commercially sensitive material
a proactive, detail-oriented and solutions-focused approach
ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
strong written and verbal communication skills
Essential:

Experience working with media, communications or professional services
In-depth knowledge of the defence industry and an interest in international trade and markets – particularly related to Europe
European language skills (especially German or French) to support business development and stakeholder relations in international markets
Proven experience in stakeholder engagement with federal, state and local government
