Te Tūranga | About the role:
This is a true hybrid role, deliberately designed to sit across HR partnering and organisational development / learning & capability.
You’ll work closely with leaders to support effective people leadership, provide high-quality generalist HR advice, and actively contribute to building the capability our organisation needs now and into the future. This isn’t a transactional HR role — you’ll be trusted to think, partner, design, and deliver.
Roughly half the role focuses on HR partnering, and half on learning, capability, and organisational development, making it an ideal step for someone who wants breadth, influence, and stretch without needing to choose a single specialisation.
What You Will Do:
Partner with leaders on day-to-day people matters including performance, engagement, wellbeing, and team effectiveness.
Provide practical, risk-aware, and legally sound HR advice across the employee lifecycle.
Support leaders through change, development conversations, and people decisions with confidence and clarity.
Contribute to core people processes such as Impact & Development, engagement activity, and workforce initiatives.
Work with leaders to identify capability gaps and translate these into practical, fit-for-purpose learning and development solutions.
Support the design and delivery of leadership, foundational, and role-based capability initiatives.
Apply organisational development principles to improve how teams work, lead, and perform.
Facilitate or co-facilitate workshops, learning sessions, and capability interventions.
Collaborate closely with others across the People Experience team to deliver joined-up, high-impact solutions.
Ōu Pūkenga | About You:
You’re an experienced HR generalist, People Advisor, or People Partner, already working in (or working towards) organisational development.
You’ll be comfortable partnering with leaders and coaching them through people challenges, and you’re motivated by building capability.
Pragmatic, collaborative, and confident, you’re able to balance people impact with business realities, while staying organised and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
What you’ll bring:
Strong people partnering, coaching, and influencing skills.
Solid knowledge of NZ employment legislation and good HR practice.
An understanding of organisational development and adult learning principles.
Experience supporting learning, capability, or development initiatives.
The desire to grow your career across both HR and OD.
A qualification in HR, OD, or Learning & Development (or equivalent experience) is desirable but not essential.
Tono Mai | To Apply:
Applications close 17 May, but we will assess applications as they are received so submit your application today.
Silver Fern Farms welcomes people from all backgrounds and walks of life. We are proud to have a diverse and inclusive environment and are committed to providing equal opportunities for all team members and applicants. Come and create goodness together with us.
