Kia hiwa rā! Are you ready to take the wheel of one of New Zealand's most iconic tourism experiences? Shotover Jet is on the hunt for a high energy Jet Boat Driver | Kaiuruki Waka to join our passionate team in Queenstown!

This is no ordinary job - you'll be piloting jet boats at high speed through the dramatic canyons of the Kimiākau (Shotover River), delivering epic 360° spins, heart-racing thrills, and unforgettable experiences to our manuhiri (visitors) from around the world.

What You'll Do

Drive jet boats through narrow canyons, executing precision turns and legendary spins
Engage with customers, sharing the stories of our whenua and Ngāi Tahu culture
Ensure safety is the top priority, following strict operational and safety procedures
Perform daily boat checks and maintenance, ensuring top performance and presentation
Assist with customer service, from greeting guests to fitting life jackets
Work alongside an awesome team, thriving in a high-energy, outdoor environment
The Qualities We're Looking For

Full driver's license (P endorsement is a bonus, but training can be provided!)
A passion for adventure tourism and delivering world-class experiences
Excellent customer service skills - you love working with people and making them smile
Strong focus on safety, with the ability to stay calm under pressure
Great teamwork and communication skills
Physically fit and mentally alert - jet boat driving is active and hands-on
Willingness to embrace Ngāi Tahu values, tikanga, and te reo Māori
Previous jet boat driving experience is a plus, but full training is provided!
Training Bond - Your Path to Becoming a Jet Boat Driver

We recognise that training as a commercial jet boat driver is a huge opportunity and a significant investment and commitment. To support you through this, we provide comprehensive training to ensure you gain the necessary skills and licensing to operate safely and confidently.

In return, we ask for a commitment of at least two years once your training is successfully completed. If you choose to leave before then, we'll just ask for a portion of the training costs back, adjusted by your time served.
