Health Care Assistant
Iona, Oamaru
Permanent, Part-time; several positions available.


Make a difference in an older person's daily life working as a Health Care Assistant. Great team! Supported to gain the qualification.


The Role

You'll put your practical skills and compassion into supporting residents with everyday activities such as personal care, assistance at mealtimes, and general care duties that make for happier, healthier living at an Enliven home. You will work hard, but there are few jobs that will give you the immense satisfaction of working for people who are grateful for your help and who contribute to an enriching working environment.

Hours: Permanent, part-time. Please state which position/s you are interested in your cover letter.

Position 1: 52.5 hours per fortnight to be worked 7.5hrs/day, 0700- 1500hrs
Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 2: Monday, Thursday, Friday

Position 2: 35 hours per fortnight to be worked 5hrs/day, 1630hrs - 2200hrs on
Week one: Monday, Thursday & Friday
Week two: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday

About You

The ideal applicant will:

Be empathetic, compassionate, and patient
Work well in a team
Enjoy working alongside older people
Be physically fit and strong
Have enthusiasm and a sense of humour
Experience in an aged care environment is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.
Level 3 or 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or equivalent will be an added advantage
