Skilled / Master Carpenter – Commercial Metal Framing

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Carpenter with extensive commercial construction experience, specializing in metal stud framing and interior wall systems. This position requires a journeyman or master-level carpenter capable of working independently, performing advanced layout, and producing high-quality installations in both commercial tenant improvements and new construction projects.

The ideal candidate has many years of field experience, strong blueprint reading skills, and the ability to frame complex wall systems with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Layout and construct interior metal stud wall systems
Frame walls, soffits, bulkheads, and ceilings using cold-formed steel studs
Read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
Perform accurate layout and elevation control
Install blocking, backing, and specialty framing
Frame door openings and hardware reinforcements
Coordinate with other trades to maintain workflow
Ensure work meets plans, specifications, and tolerances
Maintain a high level of craftsmanship and production
Operate standard carpentry tools and equipment safely
Follow all jobsite safety protocols
Required Skills & Experience

8–15+ years commercial carpentry experience
Extensive experience with metal stud framing systems
Strong knowledge of commercial wall assemblies
Ability to read blueprints and layout walls independently
Experience with soffits, bulkheads, and ceiling framing
Knowledge of drywall backing and support systems
Experience installing door frames and hardware backing
Ability to maintain production pace while delivering quality
Strong understanding of construction sequencing
Reliable transportation and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in medical, office, or institutional buildings
Experience with fire-rated wall assemblies
Experience with acoustic ceiling grid systems
Experience supervising small crews or apprentices
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
Ability to operate lifts and jobsite equipment
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 50+ lbs
Work on ladders, scaffolds, and lifts
Stand, bend, and work with tools for extended periods
Work in active construction environments
