Renal Service Kidney Stone Prevention Clinic, Whangarei Hospital
Permanent part-time position (0.4 FTE), working 16 hours per week

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Registered Nurse to join the Renal team in Whangarei with a focus on Kidney Stone Prevention. The Registered Nurse role is to meet the needs of patients/tūroro/tangata whai ora and their family/whānau using contemporary nursing care, which is safe, appropriate and effective. The care is based on comprehensive assessment, ensures continuity, and is patient/tūroro/tangata whai ora centred, culturally sensitive and evidence-based.

Key responsibilities include:

PreAppointment Coordination
Monitoring of PreAppointment Tests
Clinical Streaming and Clinic Preparation
Patient Support, Education, and Communication
Clinic Facilitation and Basic Clinical Support
Liaison and Multidisciplinary Coordination
Quality Improvement and Service Development

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Renal Service has a MDT approach to patient care across Outpatient, Community and Inpatient settings.

The Kidney Stone Prevention Clinic is based at Whangarei Hospital.

About you

Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
A personal commitment to ongoing learning and development
A commitment to biculturalism
Work as part of a team
Communicates information effectively and accurately, both orally and in writing.
Whilst not essential, applicants with previous experience in Renal / Haemodialysis will be highly desired.
