Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sandblaster Operator to join our manufacturing and fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces through abrasive blasting techniques to ensure optimal quality for subsequent coating, painting, or finishing processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, experience with industrial tools, and a commitment to safety standards. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality production workflows in a dynamic industrial environment.

Responsibilities

Operate sandblasting equipment safely and efficiently to clean and prepare metal, wood, or composite surfaces for finishing.
Set up and adjust abrasive blasting machines according to project specifications.
Inspect workpieces for surface defects and ensure proper preparation before painting or coating.
Handle materials and components using forklifts, cranes, or manual handling tools while adhering to safety protocols.
Maintain equipment by performing routine inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs.
Assist with fabrication tasks involving hand tools, power tools, welding, and machining as needed.
Support industrial and construction painting projects through surface preparation and application assistance.
Use precision measuring instruments to verify surface dimensions and quality standards.
Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency and reduce waste.
Document work progress accurately and communicate effectively with team members regarding project status.
Requirements

Proven experience operating sandblasting equipment within manufacturing, fabrication, or construction settings.
Mechanical knowledge of industrial machinery, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and airless paint sprayers.
Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments.
Knowledge of auto body repair techniques and auto painting is advantageous.
Experience with machining, fabrication, welding, and industrial painting processes preferred.
Ability to use precision measuring instruments accurately for quality control.
Strong understanding of safety procedures related to abrasive blasting, welding, and industrial operations.
Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA standards.
This position requires
Schedule: 11am-7pm Monday-Thursday

Compensation:

Compensation starts at $21 per hour, overtime 31.5
