Marketing Assistant
Full-time - Summer Position, July & August (flexible start date)
8 weeks - 35 hours per week, $17.50 per hour
Position Overview:
The Winnipeg River Tourism Corridor is seeking a creative and motivated Marketing Assistant to support our marketing and community engagement efforts over the summer. This role is ideal for someone passionate about local tourism, storytelling, and connecting with the community.
The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting local businesses, events, and experiences through engaging digital content and on-the-ground involvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute engaging content for social media platforms on a regular basis
Capture high-quality photos and assist with visual storytelling initiatives
Generate and develop creative content ideas that highlight local tourism and community experiences
Assist with the design and creation of marketing materials
Collaborate with local businesses and organizations to promote events and initiatives
Attend community events and represent the organization in a professional and enthusiastic manner
Support website updates and use Google Workspace tools to organize, track, and
communicate marketing activities
Qualifications:
Passion for local tourism, community engagement, and outdoor experiences
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management abilities
Interest in and/or experience with photography
Ability to develop creative and engaging content ideas
Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Drive, Sheets, etc.)
Experience with Squarespace or similar platforms is considered an asset
Willingness to work outdoors and attend community events regularly
Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Knowledge of the Winnipeg River area is considered an asset
Hours of work
This hybrid role requires candidates to have their own vehicle, laptop, and mobile phone, and to reside in the Winnipeg River area (Powerview-Pine Falls to Pinawa) for the summer. Applicants must be eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs Grant and available to work weekends as needed
(flexible scheduling provided).
