Job Description
ft3 is a major interdisciplinary practice of architects, interior designers and landscape architects working together to creating a common goal: meaningful ‘places for people’. We are focused on and have a leading track record in our 3 major sectors of choice: Health & Wellness, Multi-Family Housing and Corporate Office. ft3 has an immediate need for a Healthcare Architect. Reporting to the Healthcare Lead and Principals, the Healthcare Architect will be responsible for design and project management simultaneously on several projects consisting of the following:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Be a registered MAA member or be eligible to apply for licensure, with seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience on healthcare projects;
Extensive practical and working knowledge of construction practices and regulations;
Extensive practical and working knowledge of contract practices and delivery methods;
Experience in preparation and monitoring of contracts;
Strong coordination and organizational skills;
High attention to detail and accuracy;
Determination to set and manage priorities to meet all deadlines;
Outstanding communication skills (presentation, written and verbal);
Be well versed in sustainability practices and certifications (e.g. LEED, Green Globes, Boma BEST) – accreditation preferred;
Understanding of Lean design methodology and Lean for Healthcare – accreditation preferred; and
A working knowledge of Revit.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Project management and design of healthcare projects;
Together with the Healthcare Lead, lead the design team on healthcare projects;
Communicate with clients throughout the project;
Coordinate with (engineering) consultants;
Assist in leading community consultation and design charrettes / workshops;
Supervise contract administration processes on their projects;
Attend key site meetings and assist with site reviews and reports;
Participate in shop drawing review;
Assist in peer review of other projects at ft3;
Assist in developing Post Occupancy Evaluations; and
Travel occasionally as required for this position.
