COBOL Developer | Agile|Scrum

Job Description :

Work closely with engineering management, product managers and other software engineers to support existing installed Optima instances for clients within the financial services industry.

Accountabilities :
• Work closely with executive leadership, product managers and other software engineers to support the existing Optima solution for clients within the financial services industry.
• Participate in discussions regarding product fixes.
• Develop and coordinate estimates for software defects that are included in service releases.
• Design, document, code and deploy defect fixes for system related issues.
• Provide engineering thought leadership as a practicing member of the development team.
• Participate in high level task estimates for software defects at sprint planning.
• Contribute thoughtfully on issues surrounding the overall application framework and architecture.

Required :
• Bachelors (or equivalent experience) Computer Science or related field.
• 3 years experience in full cycle Design & Development of Cobol solutions.
• Experience working in an Agile (SCRUM) environment.
• Communication skills both written and verbal both with technical and non-technical audiences (engineering, QA and product management teams).
• Attention to detail and problem resolution skills.
• Passionate advocate for and experience working within an agile scrum framework.
• Experience with common data exchange formats and approaches.
• Awareness of and drive use of current best practices, tool sets and common design patterns.
• High degree of proficiency with database solutions.
• ANSI COBOL 85 proficient.
• Toolset - Git, Jenkins.
• Microsoft Windows proficiency.
