Telephone Technician

Duties

The incumbent serves as the Telephone and Radio Technician for the U. S. Consulate General, managing all aspects of the Post’s, Telephones, Radio and Mobile Computing equipment’s and services. Reports directly to the Senior Radio and Telephone Technician. Ensures 24-hour serviceability and accessibility of Post’s Telephone and Radio network, overseeing the installation and training of personnel in its use. Serve as the liaison between the Local service providers for Telephone, Radio and cell phones to resolve issues or outages.

The incumbent also serves as Mobile and Remote Access (MRA) administrator for GO and other Enterprise Managed Devices (EMD) and Integrated Logistics Management System (ILMS) loanable property clerk. Receive loanable and accountable property from General Services (GSO) receiving clerks and enter applicable data in the system.

Update ILMS loanable property as needed to ensure accountability and effective tracking. Receive request for handheld radio, laptop, and mobile device – iPhone, iPad, smart phones – issuance, prepare and complete all loanable property issuance paperwork. Create user accounts in MRA database, request Global OpenNet (GO) account, assign and issue EMD. The incumbent is also responsible for Inventory and record keeping for Post’s Telephone, Radio Mobile computing network.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of directly related progressively responsible experience in electronics or telecommunications is required. Please describe your previous and current job responsibilities in detail.

Key Requirements:
• Secondary School Certificate is required (See Education requirements)
• Two years of experience in electronics or telecommunications is required.
• Good working knowledge in English & Hindi is required(See language section)

Education Requirements:

Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and minimum of one (1) year vocational diploma in a discipline related to Telecommunications, Electronics, or IT is required. Please specify the name of the Certificate/Degree/Diploma course and the major subjects for each qualification you possess.
