SQL Server DBA

MANDATORY SKILLS:

· Expert in SQL Server DBA tasks automations using T-SQL, Powershell & Bash Scripting, Procedural Language, DMVs, System Procedures, Extended Procedures.

· SQL Server Database administration, Architecting, Capacity Planning, Migration, Upgradation on various releases like 2026/2017/2016/2014/2012.

· Expert in Performance Tuning, Tuning of T-SQL, Bad SQL, In Depth Knowledge Execution Plans, Optimizer Insides, Query Optimization, DTA, DEA, QTA, Extended Events, SQL Profilers

· Well experienced in High Availability Features like AlwaysON Groups, AlwaysON Clustering, LogShipping, Mirroring and Replication.

· Expert int Backup/Recovery and setting up best practices meet goal of RPO and RTO.

· Knowledge of Oracle and PostgreSQL Database including SQL PL/SQL, Administration will be an added advantage.

· AWS Cloud knowledge will be and added advantage with services like SQL Server RDS, PostgreSQL RDS and Aurora, EC2, EBS, FSx, etc.

· Exposure to managing multi-terabyte databases and large environment is must.

· Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, SentryOne, WaveFront, and Splunk.

NON-TECHNICAL SKILLS:

· Good Communication and Interpretation skill (as need to directly work end to end with client whenever opportunity comes and once introduced to client).

· Strong Troubleshooting, debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Producing quality documents including root cause analysis and managing same.

· Working experience with large environment.

· Ability to learn and adopt to a situation requires to go above and beyond.

· Follow escalation procedures meticulously with supporting documentation.

· Respond to PagerDuty alerts and Email alerts, triage the problem and work toward its resolution.
