The Database Solutions team provides tools and database support to all IT groups providing database functionality to support application development and operations. The selected individual will be working in the Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center (BIETC) in Bangalore, India

Oracle Database Support
Variable shift support
Must be willing to work on the Rotation shift Or extended shift in Day.
Creates procedures for the design, implementation and test of databases, across multiple versions, use Automation for regression testing with various Operating Systems and versions of Databases
Creates plans for the testing and certifying the different version’s compatibilities to the current production setup
Consults with leads and technical specialists to identify proper hardware and software implementations
Demonstrates industry best practices and skills with, Oracle and (or)MSSQL databases, Cluster, RAC, backup and recovery, all versions of Windows server edition operating systems, and performance tuning
Plans, installs and tests software upgrades and patches. Provides input on organizational standards for database monitoring thresholds. Monitors performance trends to identify and correct problems
Applies extensive job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts
Has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Recognized as a job expert within the department/organization
Participates as an active team member in Tier 1 alert management, planned maintenance, production outages, and projects
Provides specifications to customers for connecting to various databases Consults with customers and/or database modelers and architects to plan and develop database designs
Directs the database design. Participates in the change process for review of requested changes
Develops database maintenance procedures and tools, utilizing best practices
Maintains complex databases by performing appropriate database management functions (e.g., maintain space availability, rebuilds indexes, file cleanup, runs utilities to check database integrity) to ensure optimum capacity and application performance
Communicates database status to the user community
Guides the successful completion of database related projects
Displays a spirit of wanting to learn more and do more while setting an example to the team
Represents the database team with integrity and leadership
This position develops and maintains technical relationships / partnerships with customers, suppliers, peers, partners and team members to execute on projects
This position provides periodic updates to Boeing management in the form of progress reports, project summaries, and other related documents. This position will also be responsible for coordinating and communicating regularly with experts in Boeing organizations around the world
Required Skills:
Should be Oracle DBA
Oracle Enterprise Manager experience; prefer Oracle 12c Cloud Control
Database administration experience with Oracle 10g/11g/12c on Linux/Unix
Desired Skill:
SCOM experience desired
External Cloud Database [Azure / AWS / Google Cloud] support desired
Unix / Linux Operating system experience desired
Database virtualization experience desired
Shell and Perl Scripting experience desired
PostgreSQL or MySQL experience desired
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's OR Master’s degree with 3 to more years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
