AB854| | Leather Technician | Auto Upholsterer in Kuwait

Responsible for meeting with the client, selecting the appropriate materials for the job, and installing the upholstery to meet the desired specifications. May also be required to dismantle and rebuild in which the upholstery has been replaced such as leathers , chairs, etc.
1. Fit, install and secure material on frames, using hand tools, glue, cement, or staples.

2. Read work orders, and apply knowledge and experience with materials to determine types and amounts of materials required to cover workpieces.

3. Make, repair, or replace automobile upholstery and convertible and vinyl tops, using knowledge of fabric and upholstery methods. (Leather – vinyl and other fabrics).

4. Build up with loose fiber stuffing, cotton, felt, or foam padding to form smooth, rounded surfaces.

5. Dismantling interior for upholstery preparation.

6. Measure and cut new covering materials, using patterns and measuring and cutting instruments, following sketches and design specifications.

7. Installing and repairing furniture webbing and seating springs.

8. Stretching out and installing fabric or leather coverings.

+. Smoothing out imperfections.

10. Conduction quality checks on completed orders

Requirements

1.High school diploma or Equivalent.

2. 2-3 years’ experience.

3. Automotive specialization.

4. Proven work experience as an upholsterer.

5. Knowledge of upholstery tools including hot knives, nail guns, and sewing equipment.

6. Capability to follow the system of quality control inspection in order to prevent or correct faulty workmanship which falls below standard.

7. Ability to produce excellent standards of work on a consistent basis.

8. Ability to interpret design templates.
