Software Engineering Manager

BuildNext is a first-of-its-kind, technology enabled Branded Homes startup building an industry leading technology platform to disruptively scale distributed housing in India. The company is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Manager (SDM) to lead a team of 30+ developers in the development of modern web and cross-platform applications, as well as AR/VR/3D applications. The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of overall experience, with at least 5 years in a successful enterprise SaaS product/data platform, and 5+ years in software engineering management.

Responsibilities:
• Manage a team of 20+ software engineers, including hiring, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, prioritize, and execute software development projects and initiatives.
• Drive the adoption of modern software development practices, including Agile methodologies, DevOps, and CI/CD.
• Create and own the software engineering roadmap to ensure BuildNext technology stays ahead of the curve in meeting current and future business objectives with minimal tech debt
• Work closely with the product/program management teams to ensure product roadmaps align with customer needs and business objectives.
• Develop and maintain a strong relationship with internal and external stakeholders, including core ops, customers, partners, and vendors.
• Ensure that software development processes and procedures are documented and adhered to, and that code quality and security standards are met.
• Continuously assess and improve the team's performance, processes, and tools, using data-driven metrics and analysis.

Minimum Qualifications:
• 8+ years of overall software development experience, with at least 5 years in a successful enterprise SaaS product/data platform.
• 5+ years of software engineering management experience, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams with 20+ engineers.
• Strong technical skills, with hands-on experience in modern web and cross-platform application development, as well as AR/VR/3D application development.
• Well versed with Agile methodologies, DevOps, and CI/CD as well as cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Azure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in a startup, scaleup or other high-growth environment.
• Experience with modern software development languages and frameworks, such as React, Angular, Node.js, and Python.
• Strong project management skills, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience building a construction tech product is a huge plus
