Software Engineer Intern

About Software Team and the Role

As an intern in the Software Engineering Team at Origin Health, you will work closely with Product, R&D (AI), Data Engineering, and Clinical teams to design, develop, deploy, maintain, and monitor front-end and back-end infrastructure for several internal tools, software applications, and our flagship product. You will also get an opportunity to work with leading healthcare providers, medical institutions, regulatory experts, and AI scientists across various stages of software and product development life cycles.

Duration - 6 months

Location - Bengaluru (On-site)

What will you do?
• Software Engineering: Understand software requirements from clinical collaborators and internal teams (Product, R&D, Data Engineering, Clinical, and Software) to design and engineer various internal tools.
• Software Development: Develop, deploy, and maintain a high-quality codebase (behavioral-driven design and domain-driven design) with proper testing and re-usability.
• Data Management: Implement and maintain databases and prepare entity relationship diagrams.

Who are we looking for?
• Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Python, Go, or JavaScript/Typescript.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and Javascript/Typescript for front-end development. Having experience in any of the modern Javascript frontend frameworks is preferred, such as React, Vue, Svelte, and so on.
• Familiarity with database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
• Knowledge of software testing and debugging techniques.
• Basic understanding and knowledge in a) Git and Git Workflow b) Containerization (preferably Docker) c) CI/CD d) Cloud provider (preferably AWS) e) Agile software development methodologies
• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with other engineers.
• Strong motivation to continuously learn and expand programming skills, including an eagerness to learn new programming languages and frameworks.
• Previous internship experience in early-stage startups is a plus.
