We are currently seeking an experienced project leader to join our Front Office R&D team at D. E. Shaw India in Hyderabad and Bengaluru. This team is dedicated to building highly scalable and robust web infrastructure using the latest web technologies. With around 200 web applications already running in production on this infrastructure, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and cutting-edge environment, working alongside a talented group of developers and engineers.

What You'll Do Day-to-day

As a valued member of our team, you’ll have an exciting opportunity to contribute to a wide range of products, including modern build tools, scalable web components, mobile infrastructure and development, real-time infrastructure using Web Workers and WebAssembly. You’ll work on complex business components, dev productivity tools, deployment tools, elastic-based search components, and many other interesting products. Your role will be vital in ensuring that we build high-quality products that are used by almost everyone in the firm. Along with a fun-filled journey, you’ll also have ample opportunities to learn and develop your skills. Additionally, as a manager, you’ll be responsible for leading and managing a talented team of developers and engineers who share a passion for building innovative solutions. You’ll play a pivotal role in setting the team's vision and building products with the end user in mind, all while maintaining a focus on excellence and continuous improvement.

Who We’re Looking For
• The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• The ideal candidate should have at least four years of industry experience and more than two years of professional experience in web technologies. Experience with React is a plus.
• The ideal candidate should be passionate about managing talented engineers, setting goals for them, and helping them build products with objectives and end users in mind
• The candidate should be skilled at setting the team's vision and have a thought process for measuring success in terms of quantifiable results
• The candidate should also have a demonstrated history of executing tasks, taking them to conclusion, and achieving defined measures of success
• The candidate should use their technical aptitude and design skills to build highly scalable web-based products and guide the team through complex problems
• Candidate should communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their pain points and build solutions to address their concerns
• The candidate should also participate in project planning, design, scoping, and prioritization discussions
• The candidate should help drive continued process improvements in development, testing, code maintenance, and product performance
• The candidate should help their reports in their career growth, resolve conflicts, motivate, and unlock their full potential
• Candidates with experience in building highly scalable and robust infrastructure will have an added advantage
• The ideal candidate should have exceptional design skills with attention to detail and experience in building complex components with intuitive API
• The candidate should have excellent problem-solving skills, written and verbal communication skills, and a passion for engineering excellence
