Introduction: What will you be doing? - Providing Second Line of Defence (2LoD) review and challenge of First Line of Defence (1LoD) interpretive proposals based on independent assessment of appropriate regulatory capital and liquidity treatment - Delivering high quality regulatory capital and liquidity analyses and reviews by maintaining robust technical knowledge of the Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR) for both the UK and EU, obtaining a clear understanding of the business context and economic drivers, and analysing all potential conclusions/options with associated risks and justifications. - Close and effective engagement with lines of business, Risk and Finance and other key stakeholders on UK and EU regulatory capital and liquidity-related workstreams and initiatives. - Oversight of horizon scanning, interpretation and implementation of emerging regulatory requirements for standardised RWA calculation. - Promoting the significance of regulatory compliance and role of the PRA Regulatory Interpretations Pre-screening Group, Regulatory Management Oversight Committee and Regulatory Reporting Oversight Committee to Risk and other Barclays stakeholders. What we’re looking for: - 7-10 years of experience in a leading banking institution, central bank, prudential regulator, or any combination of these. - Some technical knowledge of current UK and EU Regulatory Capital and Liquidity Rules and awareness of future regulations. - Barclays institutional knowledge, covering the manner in which both regulatory capital/RWA and liquidity information is captured and reported, including an understanding of the control framework governing the same - Experience implementation aspects of the regulatory capital and liquidity calculations - Strong control mind-set, understanding of the importance of a robust governance and control structure, and what that means for a Risk function - An eye for detail and a natural curiosity to learn and challenge the status quo - Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels and work effectively both individually and as part of a team Skills that will help you in the role: - Delivery focused - highly organised and proactive individual with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex projects and deliver within tight timeframes Where will you be working?
