JOB DESCRIPTION : GENSET SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Genset Service Technician to join our team. As a Genset Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting services for various types of generator sets (gensets). This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in genset service, with a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems.
Responsibilities:
Perform regular maintenance and inspection tasks on gensets to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with gensets, using specialized tools and equipment.
Repair or replace faulty components, such as engines, alternators, controllers, fuel systems, cooling systems, and electrical wiring.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations while working on gensets.
Keep accurate records of service activities, including maintenance schedules, repairs, and parts inventory.
Collaborate with the service team to coordinate maintenance schedules and prioritize service requests.
Provide technical support and guidance to customers and colleagues regarding genset operation and maintenance.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to genset service.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in genset service, with a focus on mechanical and electrical systems.
In-depth knowledge of genset components, including engines, alternators, controllers, fuel systems, and cooling systems.
Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues in gensets.
Strong understanding of electrical circuits, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Familiarity with load bank testing and the ability to interpret test results.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effectively interacting with customers and team members.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification or formal training in genset service or related field.
Experience working with different brands and models of gensets.
Knowledge of generator control systems and remote monitoring technologies.
