We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the Cash & Cheques team.

Job Introduction

The jobholder is to contribute towards meeting the strategic objectives of becoming one of the best foreign cash management banks in India. The jobholder needs to effectively manage third party service providers, who are based across the country. In addition, HSBC has correspondent banking arrangement with leading banks with different level of infrastructure and service levels in India which encompasses over 5000 locations. Timely lodgement of instruments with these banks/ Co-ordination / tracking and monitoring of receivables/ payables data from such many banks/branches is extremely challenging. Decentralisation of certain processing activities at our branches (to improve turnaround time) leads to further complexity in management of funding and data from such banks as well the need to support the area operations (i.e. the area officers) to achieve the desired level of accuracy and timeliness in processing the transactions.

Principal Responsibilities

Impact on the Business

Ensure day to day processes are run as per defined procedure notes and policies.
Monitor performance of third-party service provider.
Ensure Daily Control Functional Checklist is updated.
Ensure standardization of processes.
Continuously strive to ensure process improvements
Ensure an effective Business Continuity plan is in place for the unit.
Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
Setting discipline for routine activities and ensuring deadlines are met.
Ensure timely processing of transactions, all pending deposit/ discrepancy resolved within agreed TAT with business.
Ensure receipt of timely funding and realization status from the partner bank.
Ensure physical return cheques handover to the customer
Ensure vendor CTS BCP set-up is in working conditions at all HSBC/OLIVE locations.
Ensure all DD cancelation request processed and fund credited in the customer account within agreed timelines.
Follow the group compliance policy as applicable to role. Should be aware of the Operational Risk scenarios associated with their role, and to ensure that all actions during their employment with HSBC, take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring.
Ensure that there is improvement in productivity for transaction processing and service delivery.
Ensure all cash & cheque activities are performed smoothly and that all RBI deadlines are met.
Customers / Stakeholders

Contributes to building good customer relations and maintaining a high level of customer service
Understand and implement customer requirements.
Monitoring Vendor staff performance and creating culture of learning and growth in the unit.
Identify training needs and ensure training requirements are met.
Ensures the smooth, systematic and efficient functioning of the department.
Manage the operational risk associated with the role and safeguard the interest of the bank
Ensures audit recommendations / Compliance issues
Reporting / Preparation of returns.
Business Continuity Plan (BCP)
Requirements
Minimum Graduation or as required for the role

This role requires 2 years of overall Banking exposure.

Additional Information

Mandatory to successfully complete Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions training and post-course assessment, as required.
