Senior SW Engineer (Backend/Frontend, microservices)
Role Summary / Purpose
The Senior SW Engineer will be working to develop and deliver required product features for utilities/tools used in HVDC project development and deployment, working together with engineers based in HVDC Stafford/UK and other remote locations. The role is accountable for business critical NPI software development in order to meet product requirements and timelines for future commercial HVDC projects.

Essential Responsibilities

Design, develop and implement backend/frontend software based on existing utility/tool frameworks
Integrate software packages with existing systems and sub-systems.
Prepare unit test and regression test specification, packages and templates.
Support/execute software release testing
Interact with a multi-discipline engineering team to meet the project requirements throughout its life cycle.
Prepare formal and informal engineering documentation (e.g. Design documents, code reviews, Release reports,…)
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or above in Software Engineering with considerable work experience (as Lead/Senior SW developer)
In-depth knowhow in modern microservice architectures and component development, including tools/technologies like Kafka, Java Spring, Cassandra, Neo4j, Docker containers and Kubernetes
Experience in developing HTML/JavaScript based UIs
Knowhow in Predix Edge technology stack preferred
Extensive experience in working with C++/C#, Java and Python
Familiarity with modern cybersecurity constructs (e.g. Static Analysis, Digital Signatures etc.)
Familiar with Agile-SW development practices
Strong can-do attitude and energy level
Desirable:
Exposure to Embedded C/C++, Matlab/Simulink (and/or other auto-coded controls software)
Demonstrated experience and track record of success in working with global engineering teams
Experienced user Jira and confluence for task Management and documentation
