Job Description and Requirements

Responsibilities:

As a tech-savvy and passionate Unix Systems Administrator supporting Datacenter operations and staying onsite at Datacenter in Bangalore India. Your responsibilities will be support Hardware of Compute life cycle which includes installation, support hardware issues and resolve it. You need to coordinate with Network, Storage and Functional team for Datacenter related activities like working with OEM Vendors, Physical support assistance of devices. You will have an opportunity to work with teams across the IT organization on various projects and initiatives ranging from global console upgrades, network, and server equipment installations to automation projects for tasks small and large. A day in the life of a Unix Admin can range from system installs, attending team/operational/project meetings, working with end users, OEM vendors on system-related issues.

Requirements:

Hard Skills we are looking for: ·

Bachelor’s degree or 4 years equivalent experience within a technology-based program or industry

Excellent problem-solving skills, sound sensible reasoning, and solution-oriented mindset.

Fundamental and understanding of most flavors of Unix operating systems including Linux and its many variants.

Ticketing tools and knowledge of BMC and Service now is a plus

Excellent English writing and speaking skills

Understanding of TCP/IP networking and how it pertains to system communication.

Ability to quickly break down a situation and quickly respond

Attend to common ticket resolution processes and SLAs (Service Level Agreement)

Ability to articulate tough situations and technical details in an easy manner

Physical requirement – Ability to move servers between racks occasionally or the ability to move a negligible amount frequentl

Datacenter onsite experience:

Hardware detection of issues especially on supermicro servers

Linux administration skills on installation, upgrade

Process ordering, Vendor management, Giving onsite support to Network, Storage Functional Teams

Experience providing remote support via online meeting tools and excellent troubleshooting skills

ITIL Standards on book keeping and audits of servers at Datacenter
