Job Description
SRE must have strong AWS, Terraform and GitHub skills to support IaaS
All changes being applied to the environment must be automated with Terraform and checked into GitHub version control.
This role includes the rights to perform all the necessary functions required to support the applications in the IaaS environment.
Required to adhere to all Enterprise processes and controls (ie: ChgMgt, Incident and Problem Mgmt, etc) and ensure alignment to Cloud standards and best practices.
Ability to write and implement IaC and platform automation using Terraform
Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code – Terraform
Strong public cloud provider experience (AWS SysOps or DevOps certification a plus)
Strong systems, network, and admin knowledge
Experience troubleshooting application issues in an IaaS environment
Working knowledge of DevOps and delivery tools (GitHub merging, branching, PR’s, commits, etc)
Responsible for building the automation for any account customizations required by the application (ie: custom roles, policies, security groups, etc)
Service the L2 Service Now queue for their LOB
Resource Optimization. Optimize usage maximizing utilization of deployed resources and reduce spend leveraging cost management tooling
Provide L2 Operational Support, SRE will be responsible for escalating to Cloud Support should they determine the issue to be IaaS platform related)
Practical experience with modern scripting languages (Python, .Net, C#, Java)
