PostgreSQL Database Administrator

Location: Ahmedabad(WFO)

Key Responsibilities:

Work with the operations team to help with customer database issues and deal with standard operational activities for production systems

Assist in daily administration activities including setup, configuration and monitoring of database s to ensure replication, backups, availability and performance are all maintained to the highest standards.

Identify Business Critical alerts from all production database s and find a root cause and solution

Tuning, troubleshooting and on-call production support for database environments deployed in multi-AZ AWS environments both on the EC2 and RDS/Aurora platforms.

Monitor and work the JIRA ticket queue for requests to make schema changes, security changes, execute scripts against the databases

Advise application development and support teams on process bottlenecks and provide database tuning to ensure optimal performance.

Provide 247 on-call support (includes holidays) production and non-production environments.

Must have experience in SQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, MongoDB and in the cloud would be preferred.

Good understanding of the difference between relational and non-relational database s.

Good experience of AWS native platforms such as RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, etc.

Backup and recovery of the database with data integrity.

Performance management, tuning of the database s to remove bottlenecks and ensuring availability.

General database management like monitoring, procedures to purge, etc.

Working knowledge of Windows and Linux server operating systems.

Good understanding of basic Cloud Services Models

Ability to effectively work individually or in a team environment

Ability to deal with and resolve complex situations in a professional manner.

Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.

Adapt to any new changes in the technology and infrastructure used within the organization
