Oracle Database Administrator

Position: Oracle Database Administrator

Location: Chennai, India

Position Description:

• Responsible for the Oracle Database administration support to multiple regions

• Co-ordinates with customers / other teams / vendors in resolving issues

• Installation, configuration and decommission of Oracle DBs on various platforms including RAC.

• Basic performance tuning skills

• Adherence to Database Security

• Exposure to Oracle Enterprise Monitoring tools

• Process adherence, process improvements and knowledge management

• Handle Global projects

• Incidents/Tickets queue management and adhering SLA

Skills Preferred:

• Exposure to PostgreSQL/Mongo will be an added advantage

• Working experience on Cloud platforms (Azure/Amazon Cloud)

• Experience with container-based deployments using Docker, working with Docker images, Docker Hub and Docker-registries and Kubernetes.

• Willingness to adopt and learn newer cloud-based DB technologies

Experience Required:

Oracle DBA with at least 5+ years of hands on experience managing Oracle (11g,12c) databases in Windows/Linux platforms.

4+ years of hands on experience in managing Oracle DB on Windows and Linux/Unix OS.

Good knowledge of the following:

- Work experience with Oracle EXACC platform

- Performance Tuning

- Installation, patching, upgrades

- Backups and Recovery

- RMAN - DataGuard

- DB Configuation, Monitoring

- DB Security

- Shell programming, PLSQL, SQL

- Good Communication skills

Education Required:

Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) -12C/1+C
