Android Developer

We have an exciting opening for a bright, talented, and passionate Android Developer with 3 to 6 yrs experience and with proven mastery in Android SDK for research and development on a leading Java product. She/he should be an all-rounder and willing to expand their horizon to other related areas this role demands.

Core Responsibilities
• Design, implement proof of concepts using Android & Android Studio. Android App Design to support business requirements and projects
• Write well designed testable, efficient code
• Deep knowledge of Java fundamentals
• Experience with test-driven development.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet deadlines
• Resolves technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation
• A team player who is effective working independently and collaboratively
• Ability to learn and use new technologies
• Experience in trouble shooting system issues
• Working directly with developers and product managers to conceptualise, build, test and realise products
• Gather requirements around functionality and translate those requirements into elegant functional solutions
• Build prototypes at tech scoping stage of projects
• Working with the sales and support teams to build the interface with focus on usability features
• Keep up to date on the latest industry trends in the mobile technologies
• Explain technologies and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Being open. Being able to accept and give positive critique. It’s about delivering software and solutions to the customer, not about egos.

Skills and Requirements
• Solid understanding of the Android platform
• Capable of making use of standard libraries and APIs.
• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
• Full mobile development lifecycle
• Strong OO design
• Test driven development using Junit
• Published one or more Android apps
• Version control such as Subversion
• Debugging, profiling, heap analysis
• Continuous integration with Jenkins, ANT
• Proven problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to drive through technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and written skills, with an emphasis towards collaborative teamwork.
• Continually updates technology skills
