Database Administrator | PostgreSQL|SQL

Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in information systems, business systems, management information systems, IT Management, or other IT degree • 5 + years of experience in administering cloud based multiuser environment with expertise in planning, designing, building, and implementing complex database systems • 2 years+ of AWS Postgres RDS administration experience throughout the non-production to production release cycle • 2 years of experience in application data modelling • 1 year of experience in Python and shell scripting • 1 year of experience in working with Git or similar code repositories to manage all database code • AWS RDS hands on experience and understanding the Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) network • Capacity planning, performance assessment of AWS RDSs • Strong Postgres/SQL Server DB administration experience in production environments • Configuration and support of complex RDS Databases in AWS environment, Configuring and managing high availability resiliency solutions leveraging Aurora Read replicas & Global Database • Experience of managing multiple RDS, database versions on large systems • Practical experience in monitoring • Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices • Experience in using Performance Insights, RDS KPI design and management. • Working knowledge of Lambda, Python • Working knowledge of devops support model • Demonstrated experience of creating, maintaining, implementing, and auditing database standards and best practices • Demonstrated In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL DB architecture. • Demonstrated experience in setting up backup/restore and DR processes to support RPO/RTO and PITR for application databases. • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills. • Proven and rigorous code documentation implementation and coding best practices knowledge • Experience of using tools - pgAdmin, SQL workbench, etc. • Ability to review query execution plans, identify bottlenecks/blockers and provide smart optimized solutions. • Experience in defining RBAC controls for controlled database access. • Experience in defining backup/restore, data replication strategies with data masking. • Strong analytical, interpersonal communication skills • Must possess good communication skills, both in verbal and in written form • Proficient in identifying, analysing, and solving problems. • Client facing experience • EDB Postgres certification is highly desirable. • Python programming and scripting skills for data wrangling with a good understanding of the python ecosystem for data • AWS Glue based data pipeline development is an added value. • Familiarity with Continuous Integration tools.
