Job Description: Accountant

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented accountant to join our team in the commodity business. As a Commodity Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and providing accurate financial information for decision-making.

Responsibilities:
• Financial Management: Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and expense tracking. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting principles and standards.
• Commodity Transactions: Monitor and reconcile commodity trading activities, such as purchases, sales, and inventory. Maintain up-to-date records of commodity pricing, contracts, and settlements. Analyze market trends and pricing data to provide insights for decision-making.
• Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to commodity trading, tax regulations, and financial reporting. Prepare financial statements, reports, and presentations for management and external stakeholders. Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and variance reporting to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in the commodity business. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models. Provide recommendations to optimize financial performance and mitigate risks.
• Systems and Process Improvement: Continuously improve accounting systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Identify and implement automation solutions where applicable. Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is preferred.
• Previous experience in accounting or financial analysis, preferably in the commodity business.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and commodity trading practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced spreadsheet skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
