As a software eingineer II in Sales Workforce team in Corporate Investment Banking at J p Morgan we are looking for highly motivated Java engineers to join its ranks. We’re looking for an application developer to join a fast-paced, high-energy, diversified team. You will be part of the Markets as a Service Engineering team, a dynamic group of 40+ technologists globally. You will work on creating a commercial hosted software solutions for front office trading and sales desks. Our platform delivers a sleek, intuitive experience across the full trade lifecycle, making it easier and faster for Traders and Sales to help clients conduct business with the Investment Bank. You do not necessarily need banking experience but must be highly motivated with a track record of success in software development.
Job responsibilities:
Develop and design high-performance, latency-sensitive code, incorporate security requirements, and review code written by other team members
Identify opportunities to eliminate (or automate remediation of) recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
Participate in communities of practice across the group to drive awareness, consistency and adoption of modern technologies
Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
Formal training, or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
Excellent understanding of Java fundamentals and frameworks (Spring Boot), OO programming paradigms, multi-threading, messaging technologies and computer networks
Experience in building high-performance, latency-sensitive distributed Java applications
Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting software running in Linux environment, familiarity with containers and cloud architectures and services
Experience in modern testing tools (JUnit, Mockito, Spring Test Framework)
Experience working with numerous globally distributed engineers and stakeholders, strong interpersonal and communication skills
Understanding of full software development lifecycle and agile approach
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Exposure to cloud technologies
Familiarity with Investment Banking, FinTech, or Financial Markets
Understanding of messaging solutions like Solace, AMPS, Elastic Search, gRPC
Familiarity with Python, front-end technologies
