About the role
As an Operations Engineer in Institutional Markets Operations tech area, you would be responsible for managing the resolution of application and system issues that arise across customer and static data business. This requires candidates with both business skills and technical IT knowledge, and demands an ability to manage multiple high-level tasks under pressure in a high performing global support team.
What will your day look like
To grow and be successful in this role you will ideally bring the following:
• Certifications – ITIL (desired), AWS Cloud practitioner (desired)
• Required Experience - 6+ years of application/production support experience – exposure to Investment banking applications is preferred
Technical Skills –
Automation using programming / scripting – python, windows/Unix scripting, Advanced excel functions, Cloud technologies, Configuration management, DB support, Job Scheduling/monitoring
Soft Skills –
Deductive reasoning, Descriptive and diagnostic analytics, Documentation, Incident management, Risk and issue management, Troubleshooting, Application support, Example knowledge, Monitoring and alerting
Tools –
Monitoring tools like ITRS Geneos (must have), Splunk (must have), GIT / BitBucket, Control M, Incident/Change/Problem Management Tool like ServiceNow, JIRA, Database (SQL server, Sybase)
• Educational Background – B. E / B.Tech or equivalent
What will you bring?
• Provide application maintenance and support services, to system users and interfaces (In-bound & out-bound)
• Investigation and resolution of issues including performance monitoring
• Issue resolution by providing advice or training to users, by devising corrections (permanent or temporary) for faults, making general or site-specific modifications, updating documentation, manipulating data, or defining enhancements
• Close collaboration with Developers, QA, Devops teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
• Monitoring application availability and taking holistic view of system health across multiple shifts
• Build processes to manage platform infrastructure and applications
• Improve reliability, quality of the application
• Gather and analyse metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding
• Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts along with well-defined service level objectives
• Working in different shifts based on the support team rota
