Non Destructive Technician

Job Location: Wadala, Navi Mumbai

Job Description: As a Chemist in our Civil Materials Testing Laboratory, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of construction materials used in major infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for conducting various chemical tests on materials such as concrete, steel, water, aggregate, cement, and other building materials. Your findings will contribute directly to the safety, durability, and overall quality of the structures being built.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform chemical tests on concrete, steel, water, aggregate, cement, and other construction materials according to relevant standards and specifications.

2. Analyze and interpret test results accurately, maintaining detailed records of all tests conducted.

3. Ensure compliance with quality control procedures and guidelines to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of test results.

4. Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot issues and address any discrepancies in test results.

5. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment regularly to ensure accurate and consistent test measurements.

6. Stay updated on industry developments, standards, and best practices related to materials testing.

7. Participate in proficiency testing programs and inter-laboratory comparisons to validate the accuracy and reliability of testing procedures.

8. Assist in the development and implementation of new testing methods and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Master's degree preferred.

2. Previous experience in a materials testing laboratory, preferably in a civil engineering or construction-related field.

3. Strong knowledge of chemical testing methods and techniques for Drinking Water, concrete, steel, water, aggregate, cement, and other building materials.

4. Familiarity with relevant standards and specifications such as ASTM, IS, and BS.

5. Proficiency in laboratory techniques, equipment operation, and data analysis.

6. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

7. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

8. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
