Key Purpose / Areas of Responsibility
Job Description:
Excellent comunication skills and collaborative approach
Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL database adminstration and management.
Proficient in End- to end database migrations from on-prem to public cloud preferably GCP. Should be able to lead the migrations and share the knoweldge to the team members.
Proficient in Postgres database performance tunning.
Perform hetrogenous migrations ( from oracle to posgres/ sql to postgres)
Develop Stored procedures, load balancing and High Availability.
Proficient in backup and recovery in Community and edb postgres
Primary core competency is PostgreSQL database with mix of other Oracle and SQL as secondary.
Through understanding of database design, performance tuning and optimization techniques.
Proficient in troublshooting and solving complex performance problems.
Proficient in PostgreSQL database patching, upgrades and Migrations.
Proficient in monitoring tools like Nagios, Nimsoft, Grafana and Dynatrace.
Proficeint in ITIL Incident management tools like Service NOW.
Experience managing operationson core and cloud- based infra environments.
Investigate and troubleshoot database- related issues, including connectivity problems, performance degradation and data inconsistencies.
Provide timely resolution and root cause analysis for the Incidents.
Willigness for 24/7 shift support and on call rotational support.
Generate comprehensive documentation support database issues arising from customer queries.
Good knowlege of EDB database tools like Barman, EFM etc.
Technical Skills
Significant background in creating complex stored procedures and SQL scripts in PostgreSQL.
Understanding of database normalization concepts.
Proven SQL and PostgreSQL experience.
Proven Knowdegle
Experience in designing and automating repetitive processes.
Experience with cloud- based database services (Google Cloud SQL, Azure database, AWS RDS).
Good hands-on scripting language.
Excellent problem- solving and analytical skills.
Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
Experience working with or in an automated operations environment (like Ansible).
Good to have hands on various PostgreSQL tools like EFM, MTK( Migration Tool Kit) and BARMAN.

Pay is in the range of XY per year. The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
